Roller - victim of hunting

It's difficult to express the level of disgust that I feel for bird hunters.

At first I was excited to see a November Roller - getting late for these birds - but then I saw that most of its bill was missing. It looks like it was shot off. No proof of course, but difficult to think of any other reason why an adult Roller would be missing most of its bill.

It was managing to feed.

A deeply saddening sight.

These days there is zero need to hunt wild birds. Hunters around the Mediterranean and elsewhere do it for 'sport', for fun. Killing and maiming for fun. They are the scum of the earth.
